In this assignment, we were given the opportunity produce a new brand for an event from scratch. It is definitely one of the projects that has changes my perception towards graphic design. It made me understand that graphic designer holds a more important role which is to solve problems through creative solutions rather than solely making designs look pretty.

Design Typography
Creating own typography
In this project, I have created fonts on my own. This was one of my best experiences as I was able to incorporate my favorite element; eyes into each font and use my favorite coloring medium: color pencils to complete this typography artwork.
iBALL is a font created to express what I see and feel in my daily life, thus the font consists of eyes that bring out different expressions and feelings towards different objects or events I encounter in life in each alphabet. In my opinion, the human’s pair of eyes is the most significant feature as it allows us to observe and record the things that we perceive in our heads. Through this, we can dive deeper into the details behind each object, thus discovering its distinctive and memorable characteristics.
The Process
Above are the rough sketches of the alphabets. They were made as detailed as possible and to make sure that I choose either to have elements sticking out of the letter or to have everything contained within the letters to create consistency.
After undergoing several trials and errors, these are the final sketches. I have also added more alphabets so that they look more complete as a whole.
Incorporating iBall into poster
After completing the typography, the fonts were utilized to create a new poster with the selection of quotes that suited best. Therefore, I have chosen "shut your eyes and see" by James Joyce .

The poster uses handwritten fonts which were inspired by Coco Capitan who is an artist and a photographer where her most popular collaboration to date, the one with Gucci. Her scribbled handwritten fonts have really captivated my attention and have changed the way I think about design.

Hence, I have decided to write the fonts with my own technique that resembles her font.
